The Prescient Freedom Paddle is a festival of paddling held every year on Freedom Day the 27th of April. The race course runs from Granger Bay, in the heart of the Cape Town Water Front, around Robben Island and back again. The 27km course gets paddlers up close and personal with Robben Island, an iconic symbol in South Africa’s struggle for freedom.

The views of Cape Town City and Table Mountain on the return paddle are spectacular and help soften the pain of tired muscles. This is a truly remarkable event and it should be on the bucket list of every paddler.
